Compare
Every ModulawAI comparison, in one place.
Most buyers are not choosing between ModulawAI and nothing. They already pay for something, and the real question is what that thing does not do. These pages answer that one product at a time, and each of them names what the other product is genuinely better at before it makes any case for ours.

| What you run today | What it does well | What it leaves you doing by hand | Comparison |
|---|---|---|---|
| Harvey | Enterprise AI research, review and agentic workflows, with heavy security and benchmarking investment | Matters, deadlines, time capture, billing and the client portal, all of which the AI cannot see | Harvey alternative |
| Legora | Tabular review, playbooks and multi-step workflows, strong on high volume contract work | The same gap: an AI layer over systems it does not read from or write to | Legora alternative |
| CoCounsel | Research grounded in the Westlaw corpus, with the distribution advantage of an incumbent | Practice management, and any jurisdiction the parent corpus does not license | CoCounsel alternative |
| Spellbook | Contract drafting and redlining inside Word, the closest thing to a native transactional tool | The primary law behind a clause, the matter the contract belongs to, and review across a portfolio | Spellbook alternative |
| Clio | Mature practice management with a large integration marketplace | AI research and drafting grounded in primary law, inside the file rather than beside it | ModulawAI vs Clio |
| MyCase | Straightforward case management and billing for smaller US practices | The same: the AI work happens in another tab and is pasted back | ModulawAI vs MyCase |
| Primsol | Deep Nigerian case law and statute coverage from an established publisher | Everything around the research: the matter, the time, the written address, the invoice in naira | Primsol alternative |
| Legalpedia | Nigerian primary law with summaries, at a price most practices can carry | The same day-to-day work the subscription was never meant to cover | Legalpedia alternative |
| Claude or ChatGPT | Genuinely strong drafting and reasoning, and they build working apps from a description | Matter context, citations you can open, and any record of who saw which file | Claude for legal work |

Method
How these pages are written.
A comparison page published by a vendor is an argument, not a review, and you should read it that way. What we can do is make the argument checkable. Every page names the other product’s genuine strengths first and in its own terms. Where a claim can be sourced, it is: funding rounds, published pricing, vendor documentation, survey data from Clio and the American Bar Association, and court decisions where AI output went wrong. Where it cannot be sourced, it is marked as our view.
What we say we do not do
A comparison with no losses in it is marketing. So each page carries the relevant limits. We do not maintain a state by state child support guideline engine, and family lawyers should keep the dedicated calculator. We do not offer per document access control or a mapped network drive of the kind iManage and NetDocuments have spent two decades building. We do not generate jurisdiction specific legal aid billing forms. Our Canvas artifact builder makes working applications, and those applications run in a sealed sandbox with no network access and cannot yet be published to a public address. Claude, which powers part of the platform, has produced fabricated citations in cases that were later sanctioned, which is precisely why every answer here is retrieved from a source you can open.
The only test worth running
Feature tables do not settle a purchase. Take a point of law you have already researched properly, where you know the answer and you know which authorities matter. Run it through each product you are considering. Then open every case and every section the tool gives you, and check that it exists and that it says what the tool claims. A product that cannot put the source in front of you has failed before the feature comparison starts. Bring that question to a demo rather than taking ours.
FAQ
Questions, addressed.
Which comparison should I read first?
The one covering the product you already pay for. If you run Clio or MyCase, the question is whether grounded AI belongs inside the file. If you run Harvey, Legora or CoCounsel, the question is whether an AI layer that cannot see your matters is worth a separate subscription. If you practise in Nigeria, start with Primsol or Legalpedia, because the gap there is the whole day around the research rather than the research itself.
Are these pages biased towards ModulawAI?
Yes, and it would be dishonest to claim otherwise. They are written by the vendor. What they also do is name each competitor’s real strengths, cite sources for factual claims, and state plainly what ModulawAI does not do, including the maintained child support guidelines, per document access control, mapped network drives and legal aid billing forms. Read them as a structured argument you can check rather than as an independent review.
Can I run ModulawAI alongside what I already have?
Yes. There is a scoped REST API and an MCP server, so it can be reached by other tools and by your own internal systems. Several firms run it next to an existing research subscription for a period before deciding. Matters, documents, time entries and invoices export in standard formats if you decide against it.
Do you compare against Claude and ChatGPT?
Yes, because for a lot of firms that is the real incumbent. Both are strong at drafting and reasoning, and both build working applications from a description. What neither has is your matter context, citations retrieved from primary law that you can open, and a record of who accessed which file. The page on Claude for legal work sets out where that line falls.
How often are these comparisons updated?
Vendor capabilities in this category change monthly, and funding and pricing change faster. Each page states that it reflects publicly available information at the time of writing. Treat anything specific, particularly pricing and feature availability, as a prompt to check with the vendor rather than as a current fact.
